Você roubou meu vídeo cassete...*

I'd like so much for someone to explain this blue-ray (noticed I don't know how to spell it, I'm correcting myself from now on) concept to me. As much as I love technologies it takes me forever to sink in on all new technologies. And I'm old-fashioned enough it was already hard for me to give up on tapes for DVDs, despite the fact that I have quite embarrassing things on tape, a sloppy 15th birthday (coming out party, whatever you wanna call it) to begin with and other stuff I'll never admit to have liked once in my life, close friends and family aware of them, for my disgrace.

Is it possible to play DVDs on a blu-ray player? If not my DVDs, like my tapes once upon a time, will all go to waste. Because, you know, it doesn't make any sense to me to keep two players, here a DVD and blu-ray player, my VHS player's long gone to my mother's trash collection. Oh, will they replace CDs too? Are they doing it already and am I completely oblivious to it? Will the industry stop producing DVDs altogether at some point in near future? Are blu-ray discs more expensive than DVDs? (Pointless question, got it covered by Amazon, they're indeed, but not terribly, they'll catch up). What's the big difference? I read something about blu-ray having much better image and sound, if that's the only matter I doubt I'll notice it and I'll probably stick with DVDs as long as they are still produced. Is that all or is there something else I should now? I don't want to miss out on anything by not acquiring a blu-ray player, if there isn't anything I'm missing on, besides image and sound, I'm fine with what I have. Let me know.


P.S.: I'm perfectly capable of googling it, as one may wonder, I just don't feel like doing so, given people tend to be a little over the edge on this internet, and it would take too long anyway and I'd miss on updating my blog. So, please please please, somebody, please.
